十二月十三日,第六天

Was roaming around 西门丁 looking for my local breakfast, and with the help with the locals, we found one at the back alley. The food is indeed delicious, and I don't mind having it everyday! Grabbed our breakfast and, we are heading to 北头 for hot spring! Got all our necessities ready, but the weather turn us off. I thought it'll be as cooling as usual, but then again, I was wrong. It turns out to be so warm, just like Singapore, just that it's not humid. As much as I don't like to warm, but I'm still glad we went to 北头 to visit the Thermal Valley. (Tips: Kindly bring a set of swim wear and towel and toiletries if you're going to hot spring, cause they do not provide any of this. Unless you want to purchase. You can try the outdoor hotspring, you'll pass by when you're heading up. It's NT$40 (SGD$1.80) per entry.)

Steam from Thermal Valley
Yes, they're clever. They wore jacket instead and I wore pullover.

The Metro station for the Thermal Valley

After visiting 北头, we took the Metro down to 淡水. Finally, we managed to find a place where we could cycle the U-bike in peace. With no heavy traffic and along the sea, admiring the pretty scenery. We did stop by a few places to take photos, and I would say the view is really very pretty. What's more, the natural lighting makes everything so pretty! Cycled for almost 4 hours, and it only cost us NT$70 (SGD$3). It's super cheap, I mean, you can't even rent a bike at $3 in Singapore! But we could rent one for 4 hours in Taiwan (first 30 minutes if free). Cycled from 淡水 Station to 情人桥 for sun set and back again. Everything is so worthwhile, even though at the end of the cycle, my ass numbed. (Too long never cycle) Actually, we can take a ferry from 淡水 Station to 情人桥, but what's the point. We don't enjoy the little things that's on land. (Tips: If you're an adventurous person like me, I'll definitely recommend to cycle down. You'll see a lot of Instagram worthy places which you can take photos at. There's also a route for bicycles only, so not much of a worry on traffic, just have to be careful of human traffic)

So after returning our bikes, we head over to 淡水老街 to do some shopping. Tried their ice cream, and this is only the small one, the large one is actually twice the height of what I'm holding. (Tips: So, over here, I would recommend you to get 铁蛋, 姜母茶, 鱼酥, 阿原肥皂. Of course there's other things you can buy, but that's a few that I'll recommend.)

After purchasing what we should purchase, and also had a break over at Mr Brown Coffee again, we head over to 士林夜市 for foodie and shopping again. 士林夜市 is considered the largest and most famous night market in the city. Just like other night markets, they've games, food, apparels. But they've more varieties, that makes them the most famous night market. Eat and shop and eat and shop non stop. Spent like I think 4 hours there? Cause the moment we left, it's around 12 midnight already.

One good thing about Taiwan is that their train operate till late, cause we still able to catch a train at 12 midnight in ease. Unlike in Singapore, have to run for the last train, if not have to take a cab home, and there's like midnight charge (expensive like hell) By the time we are back, it's almost 1 am.

End of day 6!
