Throwback: A mini getaway for the queen and her princess. (25th - 29th Nov)
I'm starting to fall in love with travelling, a short period of time where you can leave every single problem back in homeland and enjoy yourself in a foreign country. A getaway, a break, running away from reality, whatever you call it...
This time, I managed to "runaway" with my Laoniang. I feel kinda bad for asking her to come with me, because she'd to spend 300SGD on the air ticket which she could have saved for other usage. But well, maybe she need a break as well, for being a 24/7 housewife for ages. Even thou it's just a 4 days 3 nights trip, but I believe it's a good break for her - without being worried about this and that.
Not really the first time traveling alone, as in taking the transport alone, but it's definitely the first time for Laoniang. First time was back in 2012 for me, bus trip to Genting. We had to take different flight because I can't change mine, and it's definitely not worthy for her to get mine (SINGAPORE AIRLINES LEH~) So all we can do, is to meet in Bangkok's airport. Bid goodbye with Laoniang, then to Laodie and Laoge.
I would say yes, the service is damn good on flight, because of the amount I've paid (420SGD, which also include my hotel) Of course, when you take a high class flight, you'll definitely get a meal on board.
Reached Bangkok, collected my big pink luggage, and rushed to find Laoniang. Supposed to contact using walkie talkie, but don't know why we are on different channels... But lucky I managed to find her. Bought her dinner because she didn't get any meals on board (Tiger Air) then we headed over to meet the person who's gonna pick us and send us to hotel. What surprised me was they came to pick Laoniang and me only, #honored.Checked in, washed up, and time to rest before the first war.
Day 2
Breakfast in the hotel, and off we head to Jaktuchak! Ok, I know this is the 3rd time I'm going to Bangkok (first was when I'm 8(?), second was in 2013 April) but it's the first time visiting Jaktuchak. So, it's my VIRGIN TRIP #mountaintortoises. Started off with fashion zones, and that's where I start my shopping spree. But one thing I realise is that most of the shops sell similar things, but at different price. So it's best to compare first, but if you're too lazy to compare, just bargain.
Rested for like 20 minutes before heading over to the pets zone. And OH MY HOLYMAMA TIAN, THE PUPS THERE ARE DAMN ADORABLE! EVEN THE KITTENS ARE DAMN ADORABLE! I can never forget how they nap, how they play around, how they bark/meow. But it's a pity that I can't snap photo, actually is can, but it's chargeable. Never mind, it'll be stored in my mind.
End our trip with the MUST EAT coconut ice cream, and fried quail eggs. Went back to hotel to drop my loots and rest for a while for second round. Wanted to go over to Platinum Fashion Mall for "whacking", but they close pretty early, so didn't managed to shop. So we end up at our area searching for massage parlor for some foot massage.
Day two end fast enough and I'm not really satisfied with my loots, cause it's not a lot...
Day 3
Had breakfast in the room instead of heading down to the lobby for food. Since today is the second "day" in Bangkok, we decided to go for praying and shopping. And since our hotel (P2 Boutique) is near to town, I decide not to waste money on taxi or tuktuks, but to walk over to the shrine instead. First shrine and the MUST GO shrine will be the Four Face Buddha (Erawan Shrine), which is located by Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel and near Central World. Of course I didn't forget to pay my offering.

A sudden downpour just let down just after we reach the link bridge, and when I say downpour, it's almost like a thunderstorm, just that there's no thunder. But before heading to the next shrine, we decided to grab our lunch. Settled down at Sushi Den, some good food for this getaway. Cost us quite a bit, but it's an awesome meal! 2000baht, should be alright for such an awesome meal.
After lunch, time to get our ass moving. Headed over to Naraya (Laoniang's fav) to grab her bags. And we'll never understand why there're always crowd in the shop, like it's forever on sales. After shopping, head over to the next two shrines located outside Central World, Trimurti Shrine (Lover's shrine), and Ganesha Shrine (master of intellect and wisdom). Did my offerings and of course I sincerely hope that I'll be blessed.

Right after all the offerings, headed over to "whack" the shopping mall! I don't know why, but the first few things I bought was actually contact lens. Shopped from the highest level down, from all the shops are open till the shops closes. Just when the shop closes, we decided to grab a drink at Starbucks and think of where to "whack" again.
After recharging, we decide to go to Siam Square, cause it's sort of known as a night market. Took a tuktuk over, cause what's coming to Bangkok without a ride on the tuktuk. But of course, don't be a fool by just hopping on without bargaining. Thank goodness the driver is kind enough and friendly enough. First thing I notice after alighting is HELLO KITTY CAFE! Like oh godz, how can I miss this cafe when I'm in Bangkok! But it's a pity that we didn't head in to have a drink because we had our daily dosage of caffeine already. So till next time.

Shopped at a few shops in Siam Square and the street shops along the road. And I swear it was an awesome trip! Cause I bought more and more contact lens. And it was insane, found more and more cheaper lens as I walk down the road. Just when the time hits 10pm, we felt the tiredness kicking in, so we decide to head back to hotel. Took a cab, and the driver is being a jerk. He's lucky that I don't remember his license plate or his face or even destroy his car, and lucky that none of us are injured.
Was feeling a little hungry and decide to pack supper back at the street vendor near our hotel. And so coincidentally, I met a familiar face! My course/classmate, Jeremy Seow. It's funny that he asked me a stupid question when he recognized me "what are you doing here?" I was like "then why are you doing here?" I mean like, of course I'm here for holiday and packing my supper, if not I migrate there and be a street vendor in a ulu alley? AHAHAHAHAHA! Washed up, ate and start admiring at my loots.
Day 4 - Last day
Wake up a little earlier just because I wanna do a last minute "whack" at Platinum Fashion Mall. Had breakfast at a shop opposite the street, Yong tau fu! I would say it's damn nice and damn cheap. Walked over to the mall and met my dearest sista, Beverly, cause she just touched down and waiting for her friends. Went shopping after meeting her, and there's a period of time where we got lost contact.
After 2 hours of meeting, we have to go back to hotel to do the last minute pack before heading to hotel. Headed over to airport and wait for my flight after laoniang flew. Good bye the land full of fun and smiles and lights. Till next time~
