Finally back to this little space of mine after being away for quite some time.
I know it's my bad for being away for all these while, but no worries, now I've got plenty time to update this little space and keep this place alive. Ohwell, reason of why I've this "america" time to be here and update is mainly because I'm down with Chicken Pox. And yes, C-H-I-C-K-E-N P-O-X....
Some of my friends laughed when I say I'm infected with Chic Pox, and the reason is because I got infected at such a late age. Like when I'm in my 20s... But well, there's no scientific prove that only toddlers can get Chic Pox.
It all started on Friday morning, I've got my usual headache when I woke up in the noon. Popped two paracetamol and took a little nap before I finally woke up. Out for brunch with parents and things are as per normal, no symptoms of anything. Feel a little sleepy, so went back to take a nap, thinking that it's normal cause I usually feel sleepy in the afternoon. Woke up in the evening feeling a little feverish, so took my temperature and realised I'm running a high fever of 38.9 degree. Had my dinner, wash up, and popped the fever medicine that my bro got a few weeks back and went to sleep.
Woke up early the next morning, and realised my fever had subside and went back to sleep in peace again. Who knows, later in the noon, when I woke up, my fever came back, with a few pimple-like spots on my neck. Felt a little uneasy and ask Mom was that Chic pox, but she ask me to chill and say it's just pimple. But I still feel uneasy, especially after finding more spots on my back, I hurried down to the private clinic to consult doctor. And yes, I GOT CHICKEN POX! Took medications which could help me to recover faster, and also received my first 7 days MC. #WOOHOOOOO~
And today is my 4th day staying home, all I did was 'Eat, Sleep, Drama, Repeat'
I would like to share some symptoms you might get when you're infected by Chicken Pox and how you can prevent yourself from getting it (If you havent received yours)
What is Chickenpox?
Chickenpox (medically known as varicella) is caused by a virus called the varicella-zoster virus. It's spread quickly and easily through the coughs and sneezes of someone who is infected.
Symptoms?
- feeling sick
- a high temperature (fever) of 38ºC (100.4ºF) or over
- aching, painful muscles
- headache
- generally feeling unwell
- loss of appetite
Where will the Chickenpox spots be found?
- behind the ears
- on the face
- over the scalp
- under the arms
- on the chest and belly
- on the arms and legs
How did you catch the virus?
The chickenpox virus is spread in the same ways as colds as flu. It's contained in the millions of tiny droplets that come out of the nose and mouth when an infected person sneezes or coughs. You can then become infected with the virus by breathing in these droplets from the air.
You can also become infected by handling a surface or object that these droplets have landed on, then transferring the virus to yourself by touching your face.
It takes seven to 21 days for the symptoms of chickenpox to show after you have come into contact with the virus. This is called the ‘incubation period’.
Someone with chickenpox is most infectious from one to two days before the rash appears until all the blisters have crusted over. This usually takes five to six days from the start of the rash.
How to prevent the virus?
You can visit your family doctor and ask for vaccination.
As the weather aren't very good for the past few days, I hope all will get hydrated and not fall sick!
